    Mark Daterman Trio—Aerial Imprints

Free jazz guitar trio music improvised straight off the runway live onto 24 track tape at N.Y. HED Studio on New York’s Lower East Side, April 28, 2022.

    Mark Daterman: electric guitar
Jair-Rohm Parker Wells: electric upright bass
    Joe Hertenstein: drums

    Matt Verta-Ray, engineer

Mark Daterman has performed and recorded with Glen Moore, Robert Musso, and New York City rock bands including Radio Silent and The Mineral Red. He produced, performed and recorded collaborations with the poets Juan Felipe Herrera (Logan Heights and the World) and Marvin Bell (One of the Animals). He has also recorded and/or performed with Jair-Rohm Parker Wells’ Yellow Fields ensemble (a repertory unit dedicated to the music of Eberhard Weber), singer/songwriter Loey (Norquist) Nelson, and has contributed to loft sessions and recordings with pianist Mark Hennen and drummer/percussionist Jackson Krall.

Joe Hertenstein, who divides his time between Berlin and NYC, has recorded and performed with Matthew Shipp, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Thomas Borgmann, Anthony Coleman, Jon Irabagon, and many others. His projects as a leader include Live During Lockdown, with Greg Cohen and Michael Moore; he is co-leader of Remedy, with trumpeter Thomas Heberer and bassist Joe Fonda. His drumming propelled the wizardry of Sana Nagano’s Smashing Humans ensemble, and his percussion framed the tapestry of Mark Daterman and Robert Musso's guitars on Dream of the Grumbler.

Jair-Rohm Parker Wells has collaborated with the likes of Karl Berger, Bob Belden, Daniel Carter, John Sinclair, and Tony Scott, among others. He was a founding member, along with Thomas Chapin and Robert Musso, of the jazz avant funk rock band Machine Gun. From 1985-2018 Wells was based in Stockholm, Sweden, his musical activities ranging from Asia through Europe to America. Recent projects and releases include his opera #blackbuc: A Convergence of 20th Century Ideals, FlowSonic with Michael Gregory Jackson and Ronnie Burrage, WMW with Grant Calvin Weston and Robert Musso, and Doom Dogs, with Reeves Gabrels and Jonathan Kane.
